Luxury and airplanes are two things, that for most fliers, don't go hand in hand. However, on some airlines, extravagance at 30,000 feet is possible.

Divine Caroline recently rounded up The Most Extravagant First Class experiences around. If you know you’re destined to a life of coach, you might want to skip this list. It’s rather heartbreaking.

Emirates Airlines offers first-class passengers their own private suite onboard, fully-equipped with a personal lounge and shower.

Australian carrier Qantas Airlines’ first-class lounges boast a library and spa. Onboard, passengers enjoy a 400-channel, on-demand entertainment system and an eight-course meal paired with specifically chosen wines.

Passengers on Swiss Airlines have their own private pod – a spacious individual area that is perfectly-lit. Each personal cubicle comes complete with a full bed, large built-in flat screen, and a partition wall that maintains the highest possible passenger privacy.

Thai Airways’ Royal First Class features luxury toiletry kits including Evian Natural Mineral spray. Passengers are greeted with a glass of Dom Perignon or “appropriate vintage champagne” and served a menu ranging from lobster thermidor to duck confit.

Voted the number one first class by Skytrax in 2007, Qatar’s premium terminal for first-class passengers offers a Jacuzzi and complete spa. Onboard, your personal space transforms from a five-star restaurant to bedroom, Cineplex or office—your choice.
