Groninger Museum, Netherlands

Founded in 1894, Groninger’s museum of contemporary art caused quite a stir with it’s radically new building in 1994. Late last year, the Dutch institution reopened after an 8 month ‘revitalization’, that has seen the museum maintain its ability to attract the world’s top design talents, with designers Maarten Baas, Studio Job and Jaime Hayon all contributing exciting new areas. While most museum’s artwork can be described as inspiring, it’s the Groninger Museum itself that can be described as just that.
