We’re 10 years into the millennium and even though we’re still not riding high in flying cars, there are some dedicated individuals who are giving their all to creating a new kind of vehicle. Cherban has released plans of its concept Urban Jet, a 150mph three-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) that is said to be able to go from 0-60mph in less than 3.5 seconds. It’s a two-seater bobsled style machine with a body made out of the same material used in bullet-proof vests. Powering the Urban Jet is a polymer lithium battery, that has a life span of more than 1,500 cycles with recharging via plug-in and an inboard charger. A full charge can be achieved in 150 minutes, allowing the vehicle to travel roughly 220 miles.Steering the Urban Jet is done via a handlebar arrangement, which give it lends it a motorbike feel, especially when cornering. It comes ready to entertain with an 8-inch monitor with MP3, 3G and iPod connectivity in the dashboard. Overall, we’d say it looks and sounds like a pretty good time, right George?
This blend of cutting edge technology and bodacious design certainly makes for an interesting vehicle.
