Treehotel – Sweden

A move towards eco travel and environmental values has made way for many hotels and lodging options that promote sustainability in a variety of ways. Leading the pack is Treehotel, which officially opened this past Saturday in Sweden. Located in Harads, about 40 km south of the Arctic Circle, Treehotel currently consists of four uniquely-themed Tree Houses, created by five different architects. The Tree Houses all hang as if in mid-air, a tree at their core, within a forest of pine trees – giving new meaning to the term “at one with nature.” At the moment visitors have a choice between four top-notch luxury Tree Houses – the Nest, the Blue Cone, the Mirrorcube, the Cabin. The UFO and A Room With a View are set to appear in October.
