Smoke House Deli

Here in the U.S, we know a thing or two about delis. Sandwiches piled high, lunch specials and plenty of pickles. But a deli with a chic, 3D, trompe l’oeil design? Unheard of.  More restaurant than deli, the Smoke House Deli in – wait for it – New Delhi was designed by the Mumbai based The Busride.

The designers chose to play with 3D by hand illustrating – over a 25 day period – each and every element of the interior, from the outdoor signage and main door, to wallpapers, cabinets and even objects such as the phone.

This fun, informal, deli space transforms into a mood-lit, quieter and more romantic evening space. A neutral pallette and glamourous lighting help to set the tone.
