Moses Mabhida Stadium – 2010 World Cup

Here in the United States (home of Jetsetta) soccer is certainly not our country’s favorite sport, but we’re well aware that for the rest of the world – football reigns. A state-of-the-art landmark sports facility, named Moses Mohiba Stadium, was built on South Africa’s east coast to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Located in Durban, Moses Mabhida Stadium was designed by the ILC in the hopes of creating a landmark that stands among other greats such as Sydney’s Opera House or the London Eye. Boasting excellent amenities, this multi-disciplinary sporting venue features a styled “arch of triumph.” A cable car at the northern end leads to the skywalk at the apex of the arch. From here, visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of the city and the Indian Ocean.
