Richard Branson’s Underwater Plane

Richard Branson’s Underwater Plane

When you own an airline, a record label, a cell phone company and a caribbean island, what more do you need? An underwater airplane, of course. The Necker Nymph (named after said island) is Sir Richard Branson’s newest extravagant toy. The $575,000 prototype is a submersible vehicle with all the comforts of a plane. Well, not the planes we’re used to…Branson-style aircrafts, that is. The Necker Nymph can hold three people at a time – the pilot and two passengers – and was designed using fighter jet technology. It has the ability to dive to depths of up to 130ft, but one day Sir Richard hopes explore depths of 35,000ft. For perspective, that is far more than the height of Mount Everest. Let us know how that goes Branson, we’ll wait here above water.
