Japan’s Bullet Train E5

Japan’s Bullet Train E5

Superman may be faster than a speeding bullet, but is he faster than Japan’s Bullet Train E5? A new Shinkansen bullet train is being built to go into service on the East Japan line and will travel at up to 200 mph (320 KM), making it the fastest rail service in Japan. Set to debut in spring 2011, the 10-car train sports a sleek, elongated nose that reduces air resistance. It is reported that the E5 will allow passengers to reach Shin-Aomori from Tokyo in only 3hrs and 5 minutes, a ride that otherwise takes 3hrs and 59 minutes to complete. Shaving 54 precious minutes off of their commute time can only make those clever Japanese folks even better at what they do.
